For 2,600 years Buddhist monks have taught millions of individuals the art of love and compassion.
Now they need your help.

0
children monks in Bhutan are living in very poor conditions without proper sanitation leading to numerous illnesses and skin conditions.
0%
of young monks have respiratory infections, lice, scabies and are malnourished. Many go without medical treatment or a dentist.
0%
of the country lives in poverty. Leaving many families to send their sons to join the monastery while others have been orphaned.
0%
of girls attending school cannot afford sanitation napkins & few toilets with doors exist, causing the girls to miss school.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

I came to Bhutan to mourn and to volunteer. I left two years later inspired and touched by the young monks who opened their hearts and smiles to me. How could I ever forget my red robed friends! There will always be space in my heart for them.

HELP ME MAKE A DIFFERENCE

If I stand alone my impact is small & if we join together our impact has lasting affects.

Here are some reasons:

  • Improved sanitation will increase the well-being of the young monks and will help ward off scabies and other diseases. Building new infrastructure will ensure proper sanitation and hygiene.
  • Improved nutrition will help the young monks to grow and to be healthy to help fight illnesses. A staple diet of rice, cabbage, and potatoes does not foster optimal health.
  • Education, literature development and training will help promote an increase in the standard of living at the monastic schools. Modern materials will be developed to captivate monks of all ages.
  • By providing Diva Cups young girls will be able to attend school and the disposal of used sanitation napkins will be eliminated.
